Commonly Asked Questions:
WHAT IS ANIMAL COMMUNICATION?
There is really nothing special about animal communication. It is a telepathic communication inherent in all species and an integral part of day to day life especially for our wild brethren. Humans also have this ability, but it is often buried after early childhood. Anyone who has shared his life with a pet may have used this telepathic ability to some extent. When you feel that your dog is happy, sad, not feeling well, you are receiving this information telepathically from your pet. An animal communicator has learned to access this ability to a much greater level. You could consider an animal communicator to be an inter-species interpreter.
WHAT IS THE ROLE OF AN ANIMAL COMMUNICATOR?
We are advocates for your animals, asking questions, receiving and interpreting the answers into the spoken word.
HOW DOES THE SESSION WORK?
Once payment has been received, we try to schedule your appointment within 24 hours. The session is done via phone where you have the opportunity to talk directly to the communicator to give questions and get clarification where needed.
DO YOU SHARE ALL THE INFORMATION YOU GET?
Yes, ethically we must give our clients all the information we receive. Sometimes, the information comes through so quickly that it is impossible to give it all. In these cases, the animals generally repeat it to make sure we can get you the message.
DO THE ANIMALS CONTACT YOU AFTER A READING HAS BEEN DONE?
It is rare, but it has happened. It is most often seen during the grief therapy process. If any further information is received, we do not pursue the conversation, but pass it on the message at no charge.
WHAT ARE SOME OF THE REASONS PEOPLE HAVE COMMUNICATIONS WITH THEIR PET?
Communicating with your pet can be a profound experience. You will see and appreciate your pet in a new light. As well as gaining insight to the well-being of your companion, many offer, in return, insights to improve their people's lives. The most common reasons for scheduling an appointment are:
TO SEE HOW THE PET IS DOING.
Sometimes, people just want more information to help improve the lives of their animal companions. They want to find out if their furry companions are happy and need anything. They want to know if their pets enjoy their new toys, are getting enough exercise, enjoy going for rides or want anything to make life better. Something as simple as a change of food can create gastro-intestinal issues. It is very common for people to call to see if the pet likes the new food.
TO RESOLVE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES
Most problems are a result of misunderstandings. What animals consider to be a natural way of doing things often conflicts with daily human life. Communication helps the pet's people understand where the problem lies. With this understanding and 30 years experience in behavioral modification, we can not only find the problem, but create an easy program to end the issue.
TO DISCUSS ENVIRONMENTAL CHANGES
Changes in your pet's environment can cause stress and behavioral problems. Letting the pet know ahead of time that something is going to change gives him the chance to prepare. Is a new pet coming into the house, does he like his new companion, let him know that new people are joining the family, or that construction may be being done.
SHOWING AND TRAINING
Working animals are under much more stress than the regular household pet. In addition, they can become confused trying to understand new procedures. Animal Communication often helps in this area as the working team understands where their partner's problems lie and can work together to better understand what is expected from each other.
DYING AND DEATH
Animal communication can be a source of relief and comfort for both the dying and their loved ones. The animal can become part of the decision making process, taking pressure off their human companions. Communication also help to improve the remaining quality of life as these conversations reveal how the pet is doing, what the pet needs and how the pet feels. When euthansia is being considered, the pet's true wishes can be considered to determine if the time is right to help our companion begin the next journey.
WHAT TYPES OF ANIMALS CAN YOU TALK TO?
Animal communication is inter-species and can take place with all species, both domesticated and wild.
WHAT TYPES OF QUESTIONS CAN I ASK?
You can ask anything you want. A good idea is to imagine that you will be having a conversation with another human and write down questions that will tell you what you want to know.
WILL PETS REVEAL MY SECRETS? IS OUR CONSULTATION CONFIDENTIAL?
Pets have deep respect for other species and will never do or reveal anything that might cause their people harm. Our conversations are completely confidential and details are never repeated. Honestly, most of the sessions are usually not remembered in detail since the communicator is often so busy getting information and passing it on that there is little time for the information to be sent into memory.
HOW MANY ANIMALS CAN I TALK TO DURING A SESSION?
There is no limit on the amount of animals you can speak to. As long as time allow, you can talk to as many as you wish. It is recommended that you prioritize your list to make sure you get answers to all the questions you need.
CAN I TALK TO MY FRIEND'S PETS?
Ethically, we cannot talk to anyone's pets without their expressed consent. We would not be able to talk to your friend's pet unless they submit approval in writing first.
DO ANIMALS EVER REFUSE TO ANSWER?
Yes, this does happen. When an animal does not want to discuss a certain subject, we respect their decision and will not push them to reply. This is commonly seen when discussing an animal's past. Much like humans who suffer from emotional issues related to trauma, re-living an emotional event can be painful. The same holds true for our animal companions.
HOW OFTEN DO I NEED TO SCHEDULE A SESSION?
That decision is completely up to you. You can schedule as many or as few sessions as you feel you need. Once you have received the answers to your questions, some never feel the need to use the service again. Others like to check in every now and then to make sure things are working well and if the pet needs anything else. When it comes to death and dying, more sessions are usually done since the physical body can change so quickly. We also highly recommend that you re-connect with your pet approximately two weeks after the departure has occurred. We also work the animal professionals, trainers, breeders, show people. Due to the exact nature of the work, check-in's are quite common. We do offer discounts for multiple sessions per month.
HOW DO YOU RESOLVE BEHAVIORAL ISSUES?
We use a two-pronged approach of communication where we determine what is going on. From there, we can help design a specific program for you to work with your pet to resolve the issues once and for all. We handle all behavioral issues.
IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN BEHAVIORAL ISSUES AND EMOTIONAL PROBLEMS?
Yes. Although the techniques to help the pet are the same as dealing with behavioral issues, we often find that a mis-communication between pets and their people hinder the healing process. While many pets will share the story of their trauma, others refuse. Regardless of how much information the pet will give us about the past, we can still help both pets and their people understand the emotional problem and teach them tools to allow the healing to continue.
CAN ANIMALS TELL YOU IF THEY ARE IN PAIN?
Yes. Pets can tell us where they are hurting and how bad their pain is. In these cases, we like to combine reiki with communication. Through hand positions, we can determine by the amount of energy being sent where the problem lies. We can do a “psychic” scan where we can go through each system of the pet's body and tell you what we feel is off center. This procedure is not designed to replace proper veterinary medicine, but will give you information for your veterinarian to resolve the issues.
DO ANIMALS HAVE EMOTIONS?
Yes, animals are thinking and feeling creatures who have the same emotions as people. They experience, joy, sadness, grief, fear, anxiety to name a few. Surprisingly, many animals also have a sense of humor which often comes through during a communication.
HOW IS GRIEF THERAPY DIFFERENT FROM ANIMAL COMMUNICATION?
While Animal Communication and pet mediumship are both used in grief therapy, it differs in the fact that our work includes helping those who are preparing for the loss of their companion. We can help them understand the grief process that all humans follow and give them tools to overcome their grief. Connecting with the departed loved one through the process of mediumship help the healing process as those left behind know that their loved one is fine and continues to support them from the spiritual plane.
ARE THERE ANY ISSUES YOU CAN'T ADDRESS?
Although we have had some success, we generally do not work with lost animals. The information we receive can give clues as to the location, but there are communicators who specialize in finding lost animals. Timing is critical in finding a lost pet. We recommend that you seek the help of a communicator who specializes in lost animals to achieve the best possible success of finding your lost pet.
